Jens Rausch
In his work, Jens Rausch deals with natural cycles and processes: the artistic and painting processes make use of such materialities as ash, bitumen, rust, fire and soot. That is, materials which, in turn, already originate from transformation processes or indeed trigger them.
The moment of chance plays an important role here. Process sequences that are triggered and which are, to some extent, ongoing and which can only be controlled and checked to a limited extent, are used by Jens Rausch for his artistic process in such a way that he enters into a material-artistic dialogue.
Natural processes, specific material properties and precisely that generated coincidence, to which he in turn refers, come together in his works to form a complex unity that correlates with the respective pictorial motif.
