Constanze Vogt – weiterspinnen
Exhibition from March 19th to May 15th, 2021
mianki.Gallery shows new works by Constanze Vogt in the exhibition "weiterspinnen". Her filigree line drawings are reminiscent of abstract ribbons, folded and sewn objects made of carbon paper form bizarre, fragile and sometimes voluminous bodies, and in the hanging objects she also plays with the paradox of the encounter between delicacy and monumentality as well as with the aesthetics of the hand-made. Katharina Neuburger
The works of young Kiel-based artist Constanze Vogt shift between varied mediums. Her drawings, installations, objects and texts are all notable for their use of a reduced selection of materials. She uses and shapes materials such as paper, language and light in order to examine the subject of interposing spaces. The extensive, near-ritualistic working process with which she transforms the material is clearly visible in her finished works. In 2015, the State Capital City of Kiel awarded Vogt the Gottfried-Brockmann Prize and 2019 from the HAP Grieshaber Foundation Reutlingen the scholarship for fine arts. Dr. Peter Kruska
